No Cow, No Bull, No Whey

Around January 2018 my stomach suddenly broke down on me. I would wake up in pain in the night. I was not digesting anything easily.

Due to my dad’s advice from his own experience, I started cutting out whey protein (which I was consuming a lot while preparing for Miss Nebraska USA). I would cook at home and meal prep but my busy schedule and hungry belly (go metabolism!) meant I needed something to supplement my huger amidst my busy schedule. After researching vegan protein bars, I tried No Cow about a week before the pageant. Thank goodness.

No Cow bars got me through Miss NE USA prep – it was the only protein my stomach had been able to handle (I couldn’t even eat chicken anymore). I went through about 2 boxes between the time I found Now Cow and pageant weekend. Not only did I win Miss Nebraska USA, I also won the swimsuit award. I am so grateful to have been able to walk out on the stage without pain or bloat.

Listen to your body, we’re not all the same. Seek professional help if you cannot control pains as there may be something bigger going on. Thankfully I have continued to integrate Whole foods and protein supplements into my crazy routine.
